Hi all have been busy getting ready for our trip to Tassie in a few weeks. I would like to know about Grey Water??? I have researched out where and at what places I want to stop at thanks, to the camps book and internet. There seems to be a fair amount of free or low cost camps that inform you that must be "fully self contained". Now wanting to do the right thing I have also researched adding a grey water tank to the van the only problem is space under the van. I have in the past used a 25ltr drum and taken the water away but 25lts is not much once you shower and wash up etc. Have any of you who have travelled to Tassie, had any dramas with disposal of your grey water, or being refused entry to free camps because you don't have a tank???
Want to do the right thing and have a very good time in the Apple Isle, and I have the time to attempt the fitment of a tank.

Let me tell you that there were heaps of caravaners who were not fully self sufficient, staying at many of the sites, where they were not permitted. Particularly the Hobart showgrounds. Lots of great free camps, but the word is that the park owners are getting very active trying to stop some shiores for allowing free camping.
How long do you intend to be on the small island.?

C1&2, when in Stahan make sure you do the Gordon River Cruise, it also calls into Sarah Island and makes for a great day, great history and told by excellent guides. Also and as well even the Wilderness Railway is well worth the effort too. When on the East side don't leave without a day at Port Arthur and time your visit for the night tour, you won't regret it. Food? Well the Tassie Salmon is nice but make sure you give the Blue Eye Travella a turn on the plate as well, yummo.
