I have booked an un powered site at the Pioneer Oval for the period of the Elvis Festival in Parkes on 8th January to 12 January. The Oval is walking distance to the action but there are shuttle buses to make the festival easier to attend.
I never have been a diehard fan of Elvis but have been told by those who have previously attended that it is a fun festival with Elvises of all sizes and colours to be seen walking the streets of Parkes. So anyone going to attend the festival can contact me for a link up. I am all for experiencing new opportunities and look forward to having a ball. John

we were at the Elvis Festival in 2011, enjoyed the week enormously, even though not an Elvis fan at all. The town really gets behind it & ensures a fun time is had by all. Enjoy yourself, have fun & take it all in, & practice your "thank you very much". You will need it.

You should enjoy it, John ..
The Grace-lands (former) mansion has now been modified into a Restaurant. I haven't seen it since, but I will also be at Parkes in a few days to spend Xmas with Rellies then head off again on the 27th Dec for Tamworth.
I enjoyed the Elvis Festival a few years ago .. also I suggest to take a look at the Parkes Telescope while you're there too .. about 20 k's outa town !

Have a ball John! Take your fly repellent, and leave your warm clothes packed under the bed, as its hot!

Sounds like fun, John. I was surprised at "Elvis" emerging from the local cop shop here at Taree a couple of years ago. Luckily, I had my camera with me.

We stayed at the showground a few years ago. There are some good shows there of an evening, plus all the stuff down town

Yes Janette the dogs could present a problem but not so much the heat as the shuttle bus. I wouldn't want to be driving into town and finding local parking nor walking there for that matter. It would be good to meet up though. John
