it seems like the paper work is going thru and dad will be in a local
nursing home here in my town..
We didn't want to do this but its his request as the palitive care place has limited beds
and he is in the in between phase, what ever that means..
any way he is going in on monday, my sister is going down to look at it tomorrow
while I'm with dad... The nurses here have been wonderful, some chocolate coming there way soon..
thats about the best we can do for him now...
thanks every one for your support..

That's a bit of a relief Milo, at least you will know he's in good hands in case of falls etc when nobody is home.
I wish him, you and your family all the best.

Best wishes to you and your Dad, Milo.
Guess the main thing is that he's where he wants to be, is happy and comfortable.
Hope he gets settled in OK with no dramas.
Cheers
Joe

Hi Milo,
Know exactly how you are feeling. My mother moved into a low care facility in early October. But it was also her decision and this makes it a whole lot easier than doing it against their will. I'm sure your father will be well looked after and it might take a bit of pressure of the family as well.
Thinking of you,

You've done the right thing, Milo. I share a house with two peeps one of whom needed constant care. The husband decided he would provide it but after 3 weeks he realized it was too much for him. There comes a time when 24/7 professional care is the best option.

It is so much easier when the person themself makes the decision to enter care.

I can only agree with what everyone has said Milo must be difficult for you but it is the best thing for your Dad and that is what you have to keep in mind. Hope that you have a lovely Christmas together. Was so good that he made the decision himself as well.
