Hi all,
We are currently looking at which fridge to put into our camper, and like the layout & size of the evakool bcd161. http://www.evakool.com.au/products?sprod=105
The larger underneath freezer area is what is really grabbing us. The price isn't a big factor, they are only about $100 less then the Waeco of equivalent size.
Has anyone had any experience with evakool, your opinions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have had a 70l fridge freezer for many years and the only iutube I have had is replacing the power supply. As I spend a lot of time at the beach the fan sucks in the salt air which destroys the circuitry.after replacing it twice I found a 12Amp supply from Jaycar does the job even better still a computer power supply does the same job but looks a bit daggy. The freezer gets down to -20 and pulls 3-4 amps when the compressor runs.

Thanks guys, the one we are looking at is an upright, hopefully the quality is the same throughout.
I can't post a pic of it cause I am on the phone. Maybe 1 of the smarter peeps on here could put 1 up, if not I will try tomorrow when back at work.

well wouldn't that stuff ya, I heard that evakool were bringing out new models this year. I got into contact with them cause we really liked the layout of their fridges with a larger freezer underneath. Guess what the new models are completely different , Freezer on top and smaller.
Now in a conundrum (yes it is a word Wombat, look it up), do we buy an older model from a supplier that may have some still in stock, do we buy the new model and put up with it. SWMBO has even suggested buying seperate fridge & freezer and putting them on top of each other, we are looking for about 110l fridge & 60l freezer space. I only have a fiat ducato van so side by side is not an option.
