A funny thing happened on the way to becoming clean....................

I do not know what it is with me and showers since being on the road. Locked in Miss Daisy, and now I decided to chance the showers here in the shower block, beautiful hot water, a bit grotty, but no the worse I have seen,water not too hard, and there it was, as I looked down, something coming up from the drain, no not possible, it is a stick that has fallen down from somewhere, nooo, wait is it moving,......no condition the hair, rinse, oh my god it is moving, what is it??????????????? I had visions of some science fiction thriller and me being dragged down the drain by some monster of the darkness, but NO it was just a poor little drop tail lizard. Poor darling was probably hanging out in the coolness of the shower and some human comes along and decides to warm things up.
I am sure I am not the only one that has weird and wonderful things happen while out there camping in different spots.

Ha I had to laugh as I can relate to this story.
I worked/lived in Malaysia years ago and we were out at a "fancy" local restaurant on Sat night,,, the seafood was their specialty and it was fantastic.
Anyway the story,,,, went to the loo and standing at the urinal I could look to my left over a tin wall (being tall) and see the staff sitting on the floor cutting up ingredients etc,,, just doing my business, mind in neutral when a strange sound caught my attention. I looked down and the urinal (at floor level) was not draining but was banking up. Then a big rat came out of the drain, parked itself beside me, looked my square in the eye,,,,,,,,,and I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, but as I was peeing I couldn't move quickly,,, Just like a dog, it then shook itself and splashed all over my legs and feet. Ahhhhhhhhhh. It scurried away before I could boot it up the bum.

When I was in Charters Towers in Queensland a couple of years ago the toilets were full of green frogs. When you flushed the toilet they would cling to the inside of the toilet bowel and then jump up and sit on the seat.

.. these tales bring together some of my own memories too ..
.. Born and raised in New Guinea (and loved it) those early years were quite a learning curve.
My dear Mum related how once she had to visit the "out-house" ..
As she was leaving, she realised she had forgotten to switch off the light (long cord from the ceiling) and so returned to do so ..
She wiped the humidity from her glasses and opened the door .. she screamed .. as she saw a death adder curled up on the floor beside the "throne" ..
She had just spent some "precious" minutes sharing some intimate moments with a snake without knowing it ..
Dad's response was that he often wondered ".. which one would have been most traumatised by the incident .. the snake was obviously in shock .."
Clare .. I can understand why the frogs go for height .. heh !

I remember a similar thing in Townsville a couple of years back, standing there minding my own business and noticed what assume was a white tree frog, the same as a green one but all white sitting just under the rim. Maybe got bleached from the cleaning liquid used by the CV Park. Later it was up on the wall above the toot, got a pic somewhere so will try and find it and maybe post it here.
On the same stay I woke up one morning and curled up in front of the door was a snake, bugga, rang the office and they came and removed it as I was going no where until it had gone, I hate snakes. I reckon they were the local natives welcoming me. I will do without the welcome committee thanks.

My sister visited the out house, 10-00 PM, No lights, While she was seated, Our dog pocked its nose into the hole at the back of the Dunny, We didnt have a flap on the entry for the Can, Hahahaha
It licked her bum, She came out of there screaming her head off, Pants around her ankles, Running across the yard, Hahahahaha, Very funny,
Dark night in Qld, Long grass Im walking through, I had a green tree frog stick to my leg inside my jeans, ARRRRRGGGGGGG, What is it, I had it in my hand inside the jeans,
Keeping it off my leg, It was cold, slimy and quite frightening, I didnt know what it was, Taking my jeans off with out letting it go, I dont want to be bitten by it, what ever it was,
Harmless green tree frog, Scared the Crap out of me, But there's lots of biteys in Qld that can give you big trouble if they bite you, Hahahaha
