I subscribe to a free service from the Australian government called "Stay Smart Online" it give regular updates on what the scammers are up to and what you can do to protect yourself when online.
Recently a malware called cryptolocker has surfaced and it is very nasty. you can read the article here as it is too long to post up.
Thanks for the heads up KFT. Did you download and install Cryptoprevent from the Fooli**** link?

No troopy I haven't
but then I only open emails from people I am expecting mail from

Thanks Frank, a good warning I hope people heed the caution.
I work in IT, and it is incredibly difficult to keep up with these sort of things, so like most large organisations we now use an external filter service to "clean" our email beore it is distributed internally. MORE THAN 95% of teh emails received at our external gateway are deemed to be spam, and are blocked. These numbers are typical across multi national companies. It is a mess out there.
