My oldest daughter lost her baby at the end of October at 20 weeks...a little boy called Nathan.
My youngest daughter had her 17th Birthday (she was a 25 week premmie and we nearly lost her), she is all grown up and is learning to drive...where did the time go?
The next day would have been our youngest sons 11th Birthday
I found out last week I have a Basal Cell cancer on my chin. I know if you had to have cancer this is the best one to get...but still scary. I am having it removed on Thursday.
We are still no where near ready to put this house on the market, so much has happened and things keep getting pushed further and further back....now I am wondering if we will have it ready for next year some time

You're getting more than your fair share of troubles Grams. Hopefully the op will get rid of the cancer and things can start settling down for you.
I share your wonder at where time goes. I turned 60 this year and my eldest turned 38 and it seemed just like yesterday I was walking into the house with this bundle they'd given us at the hospital wondering what we were going to do with it.

So very sorry to hear about your baby grandson Grams, and your youngest son too.
Your BCC will be whipped off, and our experience is they'll take a fair chunk of skin around it, so you'll get a face-lift into the bargain!
Be happy for your daughter, growing up can be as scary and exciting as growing old!

Sorry to hear Gerty, sometimes it helps to 'vent'. Hopefully the 'bad run' is coming to an end and a 'good run' is not too far off.

Grams - times like this really test one's measure of endurance, but it is all out of our control. We are but spectators yet we feel your pain. It will all come together...not quite as you'd wished but I'm sure you will be happy...yet sad.
Good Luck

Thank you everyone for your cyber hugs....it means a lot, especially as I have no friends to talk to.
I have decided to put all my energy into packing this house up. I am doing my study and craft rooms at the moment. There's a lot getting packed in boxes and a lot getting thrown out. It keeps me busy and tires me out so I sleep better.
Thank you again.

My poor daughter, who lost her baby, ended up getting a serious uterus infection, so is on high doses of antibiotics Then today she had to rush to the doctors and she might have to go in to have a D&C....hopefully the infection goes and everything else gets better.
With me...I have done more packing and nearly emptied my study and craft rooms. I will miss having these rooms all to myself. We have finally got a tiler to come and give us a quote on doing the laundry and main bathroom. So at long last that might be done soon.
Plus we have arranged for our youngest daughter to go through driving lessons with an instructor, who is also going to take her for her driving test.
So a couple of downers and a few uppers. Lets hope it stays going up.

I agree Milo, one day at a time....
Well my daughter is finally on the uphill track again, she is feeling better now that the antibiotics have taken effect. This makes up for all the down days, to see her finally text me by screaming a happy WHOOPEE lol
Poppy and I are having a day off tomorrow and going house hunting. It will be nice to get away, even if it's just for one day...which of course means lunch out, we might try the pub this time :) we tried the bakery - excellent, and we tried the roadhouse - ok. As it will be the town we are moving too, we gotta try these places :)
Thank you everyone, for your well wishes, I really appreciate finally having friends I can talk to.
