My tv reception has seemed to worsen as my 2.5 motorhome ages. we run a winguard setup with booster. i have checked all wiring , everything is connected.
Is there a better arial / booster that may fix my problem, cant afford a sat tv just yet.
Does anyone knowroughly how much would it cost to fit a automatic satellite system
any info appreciated, thanks vic

Winguards have been known to toss in the towel so maybe you should get it checked out first, it appears the PC board at the antenna end gives up the ghost and it stops working properly.
I connected one of these to the top of a winguard antenna and problem solved.
thanks bob are they hard to connect?
thanks for the prompt reply

Hi Vic,
They use the same booster and the wire from the booster will connect to it,
as it is omni directional you can mount it facing any way, the one we connected up faced the sky when the antenna was wound up but it worked a treat..

Hi Vic, I recently visited Satplus on the Sunshine Coast in Qld and they have a fold away satellite dish that you can wind up and down with a handle from inside your MH. It's called the Maxview. It's not fully automatic but at roughly $1800 it's easier on the pocket than the fully auto ones. They do the fully auto ones but at a fair cost as do Campersat http://www.satplus.com.au
Copy and paste into your browser will get you to their site.will get you their site with lots of info.
There is also another company called Campersat who have a satellite system called Snipe which comes either fully auto or again roof mounted. Their is a manual tabletop version also at a much lower price too.
http://www.campersat.com.au
Again copy and paste into your browser will get to their site as well. Both have lots of info and show prices as well. Hope this helps.
I have seen lots of posts on here re a company that starts with an 'i' and the consensus is they should be steered well clear of. Info gleaned from posts on this forum.

can I join you and not p## on them, I have not had any dealings with them but it does annoy me when a company advertises like this one does, their ad indicates that you get tv with what they are selling for $199, this price does not include the decoder an essential part of equipment.
Enough of my rant, I also would stand and watch them burn, just hoping that nobody was inside.

I have replaced Winguards twice over 3 years they just packed it in.
A electronic technician told me that the circuit boards are very touchy in that brand.
My son; an electronic marine technician; told me to get a UFO marine antenna. Uni directional.
We bought it over the internet; installed it (Cost around $250.) on top of the Winguard winder arm, just drilling through the
base and inserting a bolt, and attaching a antenna cable and plug provided with the kit, and the 12 volt booster unit.
We get TV reception where most get zilch. Best thing I ever bought.
