After a few "pesky" family members made my Xmas family get together no longer enjoyable, I decided to volunteer.
Xmas day 2013 will be my 5th year at the Big Give, St Mary's House of Welcome, Fitzroy.
We serve a 2 course lunch and give presents to approx. 320 disadvantaged people in the Fitzroy town hall.
It's hard work, I arrive early, help set up and stick around to clean up, and in between courses we have our meal.
The 100 or so volunteers have great fun, we make the clients feel special by serving them, there's entertainment, they all receive a present, and there's a kids play area with heaps of activities.

It's almost too late this year, gotta get in early, around mid October. There's soo many volunteers they have to turn many away.
I now love my Xmas's, I don't expect thanks, but it's good to be appreciated.
Please drink responsibly sit down so you dont spill any!
