Another enjoyable drive down the lesser used highways, green everywhere at this time of the year. Passing through towns that I have never visited. Cowra followed by Young then Cootamundra.
This place is not well known I was talking to a camper at Carcoar a resident of Wagga Wagga the next big town and he had never heard that there was a dam at Bethungra and he has a bus and camps all the time.
Bethungra Dam Camps6 #795 is on a dirt road off the Olympic Highway and when I got here I was the only camper, we will see if that changes as the day wears on. It is Saturday and I would expect some of the locals to turn up.
There are clean drop toilets here as well as several table chair set ups and rubbish removal but that is all. It is a pretty spot and as usual I have taken my camera for a walk so you can see what the place looks like. The last pic may be the reason why this is deserted. John

Agree with your comment about the last pic John, I could think of two reasons, 1, the Algae 2, the obvious clowns shooting up the sign. I reckon there could be a few stray bullets flying around at times and I wouldn't like to be in the flight path.

Sunday morning and whilst I had planned to stay 2 nights here I am off, I prefer to have company. Last night I lit an open fire and boiled the billy and cooked jaffles it is very green here and although the state is on fire alert I was confident there would be no trouble. Another couple of pics from the sunrise over the dam. John

Looks a lovely spot John - be good to see you when you get here. Are you getting the anti flappers, or the tarp clamps like we have?
Take care.

Jules,
with the curved arms there is only one place where the unit can go, where the arm and the awning correspond.
So I think that the wider the unit the better it will grip but will look at both.
