Lovely little free camp on the rivers edge. Has toilets, bar b Qs and fish cleaning bench, as well as a boat launching ramp. This area does not seem to have a time limit as there is none listed on the sign.It does state it is for self contained vehicles.River in the front of camp site with backdrop of a reserve with walkways.Plenty of Brush Turkeys were walking around, the way they came up it looks like they are used to being given tid-bits. No I didnt feed them as I have heard this is discouraged due to them becoming aggressive.
This lovely little spot is only a short stroll from the township, which has an old fashioned village green with shops and homes surrounding it.Plenty of shops, bakeries, cafes, pub (cheap meals only $8), Returned Services Club, Coles.

Glad to hear a positive review of our little town, did someone from the progress society come for a chat?
Also the showgrounds has remove all but one permanent, so should be more welcoming to overnighters, except for the price.

Youre welcome Jules and Copper - and Oxley, we were staying in Tuncurry / Forster when the information centre told us what a pretty little town Wingham is so decided to check it out, we came across the camp area by accident, which we have noted for another day.The pictures do not do justice to how pretty this little township is.Hope the that others enjoy its beauty.
Thanks Gary, have just checked out your link, lovely pics. It is a very pretty spot and the township is only a short walk, most convenient if one should wish for a night out.
