Yesterday after being out all day came back to find those pesky little black busy beavers climbing all over the front of Miss Daisy probably to gobble up the bugs smashed up against the window and front of the doors. Did not want them to invite themselves inside so I remembered a mixture that I had read somewhere, FB I think on how to get rid of ants. So a little ****tail of icing sugar and bicard soda, sprinkled along the ground did the trick. The little devils made their way to the white powder for the sweetness of the sugar and then they take it back to the nest. It was not long before the moving ground of black was clear again. Apparently what happens once they take it back to the nest the saliva or whatever ants have causing the bicarb to swell and explode. Does not sound nice but certainly did the trick.
I can only imagine the conversation in the ant nest, " Wow these humans have some good stuff in that white powder. Just goes off like 'Kapow'."
I have a feeling there is something else you are suppose to add to it but cannot remember. I would recommend that you actually sift the mixture just to keep the consistency. All I know is it worked a treat and no chemicals involved.
Woooo hooooo fellas Party time

Hi
We had the same problem last week at Kinbombi Falls . I used a tip I read in hints and tips , baby powder . Within a couple of minutes of spreading it around no more ants
Cheers

I thought it was Borax rather than BiCarb Soda (Baking Powder). Good job if it worked.

We get a product from the supermarket called "Crunchy Crawly" (not sure if it is "C" or "K") - spray it under wheel arches etc - keeps most of the creepy crawlys, including ants, away! Spray about once a month - works for us!
