Day one, and I have travelled the some total of 10mins out the road from home. The day has been a busy one with different things to finish off and the last neighbours to see, and darn would you know that I did not say goodbye to my beautiful next door neighbours. I will do that though. The day wore on and so decided that to travel this evening time would not be a wise move, I was going to make it to Keith before heading to Adelaide tomorrow, so came and set up camp at The Pine Country Caravan Park. It is beautiful. Green grass everywhere, all flat drive through sites, amenities are spotless. It is in the country, so the sounds are of birds and cows. Just a delight.
Took me no time to set up for the night and now I am sitting here wondering what to do with myself. I have no more boxes to pack, no more cleaning to do, no more running around to do. All I have to worry about is what to do when there is nothing to do. What an absolute priviledged life I have and so grateful to be in this wonderful situation.
Tomorrow I will make my way to Adelaide, not sure where I will stay as it is school holidays and the long weekend. I was going to spend a couple of nights at West Beach but we will see. Might just head out to the North side to spend some time with my sister and her partner, who has been roped into doing a little bit of carpentery work to Miss Daisy.
Took my Mum for a drive in her today and I have to say she behaved beautifully. I am quite pleased with myself also as nothing fell out, crashed about, or came flying out at me when I opened the cupboards. The only things that went flying were the three cushions I have on the bench seat, so note to self put them on the floor before you start Sharon. Mum was suitably impressed and a feed of fish and chips at the beach had her smiling. I am pleased she was able to get up the steps and have a drive around with me before I head off.
So now nothing but the open spaces and life ahead.

Good luck Sharon - the first trip is a b it daunting - "where do I go" "what do I do?" it will all come together - find a spot, and sit for a bit - relaxing and realising how lucky you are!!!!

Great news Sharon. Don't worry about what you should be doing. Get your camp chair out, make a cuppa and just sit staring out there.
Today is my first day back out there AGAIN. I was so stressed, had a coffee at the local cafe Phoenix before I left totry and calm down.
That didnt happen until I got to Apple Tree Creek just after 3pm. Yeh, I went a whole 50ks.
Took Jessie for a walk. Restacked the cupboards as I left in a hurry to avoid any more confrontation with the other renter.. Made a coffee and just sat emptying my head of all the recent turmoil.
Now that I'm tucked in my van for the night I feel that I'm finally on the road.
Just enjoy Sharon. Doesn't hurt to have an empty head at times.
Yikes, there's a mozzie in the van.

Thanks everyone, I cannot believe how tired I feel. Guess once one stops the whole body stops. A lazy night, jammies very soon and then nothing of anything else. Tea and toast for dinner, clean up and then slouch time.
Nelly I have a Wirraway Motorhome. It is great I am really impressed in how things are going. Maybe could do with a larger bathroom area, but hey it is all good.
C C It is exciting, just a little subdued at present, but cannot wait to get out there properly exploring places I have not seen before.
Pam would love to meet up somewhere sometime, and I am sure we will cross paths. Always good to meet other GN's.
Marg, I am glad that you are finally back on the road and all is well with Myrtle. I am sure Myrtle and Miss Daisy will have lots to talk about when they meet up.
Jules a couple of days at Greens might just be what the doctor ordered. May get there in the next couple of weeks. Hope you are still there.

Hi Shekon
Not sure if your wirraway will 'fit' but I have often parked in the king William st extension to the south of south tce. There is all day parking there and no restrictions overnight, there are call centre staff who park there through the night also, you do have to get there very early am to get a park though, try and visit the Adelaide central markets, wonderful foodies heaven!
Enjoy the rest of your life!

Sounds fantastic and great you are are now playing in the playground full time. At least it was only cushions that fell off and not those bears on the bed, you might have had to put a band aid on their little heads. Just enjoy every moment of every day and,

Reading your thoughts, shekon, is like reading mine when I'm eventually in that situation... such a dramatic departure from the old routine. It must be such a weird feeling to be free. Really free. Kinda like a prisoner standing at the gates after being released and thinking, "what now?" Hehe.

Time for the Eucalyptus Oil or Spray Marj. It'll be gone within 2 minutes.

Great stuff Sharon and you have a really nice looking vehicle there.
As for the mozzie, find a gum tree with nice dry chunky bark and remove a piece carefully. If you're lucky, you'll find a big, fat Huntsman hiding underneath. Take him (or her) carefully to your van and let him go inside. By morning, the mozzie will be history

Gee I like your thinking. You also finish up with a pet that you can take into national parks etc with no restrictions.
Sharon I hope you settle down and enjoy your travels.
Just remember any day on the road is better than any day at work and much much better than underground LOL

EEEEEKKKK the thought of the mossie having a feed on me then the huntsman hopping on board to catch it Would be NO sleep in my van that night even though i know the huntsman wont hurt me. Do they eat ticks - had my first experience with one of those on me this week!

I've been told by a reasonably reliable chap that they do indeed eat ticks and right off your body, however most people tend to freak out and never see the end result
