Last night the dog came in with another baby possum clinging to his head like a hat !
I say "another" because about 18 months ago he came in with one clinging to his belly!
Both babies were ring tails, both small enough to fit in my cupped hands and both uninjured just clinging on hard.
Mick was happy to be relieved of this bundle and we put the baby on the ground at the bottom of a tree till the mother came for it.

I thought first of the wellbeing of the baby possum, and by the time I thought about a photo, it was too late... sorry.
Mick (poodle) was really calm about it all, he just came in through the doggy door as normally. Both times, there was no barking etc and the babies weren't hurt.
I was amazed the first time, but the second time blows my mind really.
I guess three times will prove it.

It seems baby possums find him a mother-substitute... ? what a good dog.

That's really cute! My son's maremma is like that. But my boys, although miniature, are all greyhound, and they only see a possum as something to hunt.
