Hi Gary, hope you and your home and home on wheels are safe, just heard on the news, that there is fires in the Taree area and some homes are under threat ,and for people to stay put as it is far too late to leave. The Pacific Hwy is also closed to all North bound traffic.

Take care Garry and everyone else over that way.
Frightening to think it's only September too.
We are the opposite here in Coastal South West Gippsland Vic, water everywhere and flooded roads blocked.

I also hope Gary is OK, I think he should be as it sounds as if the fire is south of the Old Barr road on the east side of the highway. I believe they have isolated Old Barr and are using the highway as a base to fight the fire.

At least it wouldn't be hard finding Gary's house
Seriously, just glad nobody lost their homes or property through someone's stupidity...

There were a lot of tired people at work this morning, as some didn't get home until after 11pm.
Apparently someone did an unauthorized burn off yesterday, a full fire ban day.

Don't you just love people who have no common sense - hope they get fined! That looked awfully close to houses!
Also hope no one was hurt, or lost property!

I find it strange when it is declared a total fire ban it brings the fire bugs out of the wood work.

Yes, Plendo, corner of Commerce and Albert, which is where my house is. As to Bill's suggestion about some of the locals doing a Billeeee, it wouldn't surprise me hehe. Anyway, thanks everyone for your messages of concern. I'm okay, and as far as I know, no houses were damaged. The fire was about a km or two south of the Manning River at Purfleet along Old Bar Rd. It was under control last night and seems okay today. The fire further south in the Great Lakes district has flared again with spot fires burning ahead of it and has been declared an emergency. I reckon that'll be the norm this summer. Gonna be a hottie.
As to the slide on, the auto sparky finished the last of his jobs today and the old girl is ready to rock and roll. Gotta couple of things for the engineer to do like a grab handle at the back door and the fitting of two under-tray tool boxes but they can be done any time. All I need now is TEETH!

Are you going to put the bite on someone? I am lucky, and have most of my teeth, but my younger sister had all her upper teeth removed , recently. I like steaks, and can only think of having no teeth or working dentures. My father had all his teeth removed at 45, and his face just collapsed! And he wouldn,t wear his dentures, saying they hurt his gums. Not a great sight, I can tell you. Hope you get your teeth, soon. Bill
