Sorry Cellery. As usual I engaged my mouth before my brain... I stayed in a caravan park, I think the only one there. Right on the water. Very friendly and for dogs. It's in the camps book,if u have them. Or check out the wiki camps app. It was about $28 a night but there's free camping I believe.

Hi Cellery,
I would love to hear what you think of Streaky Bay after you trip. Hopefully in the not far distant future we want to head down to Coober Pedy, my wife wants to go there, and I reckon Streaky Bay would be a fantastic diversion, I hear the fishing is great there also.
Of course, have to take our furry little friend with us and I believe the van park down there is dog friendly too, would love to hear of your experience there, and while you're there, can you check out the fishing please lol.

Hi KW, I am tempted to put the tinny on the roof now. I have heard so many good things from other travellers who live in SA so can't wait. I will post when we get there how it is going. Our dog Libby loves being in the boat but insists on sitting on the seat and is not happy with the intruders (fish) when they come over the side of the boat.
Regards

A lot of dog friendly CP's become non dog friendly during school holidays, and I'm sure Streaky bay is one of them.
We stayed there last Feb just after the school holidays and it was perfect, just enough patrons to be friendly but not crowded in any way. But the place did have that well used look and feel, so we would never go there during any public holiday.

If you don't want Streaky Bay try Smoky Bay. On the same road as Streaky but closer to Ceduna so shopping is a bit better. Beautiful little place. Great fishing. Meals at the Football Club Saturday andnSunday evenings, well priced, basic but tasty. Pet friendly and good prices for seniors.

Can still be hot at Streaky Bay Jan/Feb. Can also be cold, depends on whether it is Monday or Wednesday. You are talking about a village on the south coast, like most along the south coast, the temperatures vary daily. Trust this information is not too late.
