Some time ago we were looking for a brown electrical plug and lead for the house, as a white one (which is all we could find) would not look as good against the brown timber background where it was to be used. So................ we finished up buying a white one and painting it brown, that did the trick and it looks good. Hope this helps. Cheers,
Annie

My suggestion would be to look in the vintage caravan web site ( just Google and it will bring there site up )
You may have to join to post your request,but a beaut forum to belong to,someone on there will point you in the right direction....I have been looking for a vintage van for some time but I needed it to be from WA as when I return that is going to be my next project doing it up and towing behind my old Chevy pick up. The reason I needed it to be from WA was so it could be stored with my other toys in shed on daughter property.
I have now found my van thanks to that site.

John,
When we were travelling around Qld, there was a bloke at Mackay that had a caravan wrecking yard, had a huge yard full of vents and other panels etc, and a shed full of bits and pieces including screws, bolts etc. His premises were somewhere in the backblocks on the eastern side. Someone told us much later he had opened a store on the main highway in Mackay, not sure about that though.
The screw bolts on our Avan camper trailer vent winders had vibrated loose during travel and worked their way across the inside of the folded roof and were lost, that was the only place we could get the same thread. After that we put a dob of silicone on the head of the replacement bolts when we put them back in so it didn't happen again.
I recall there was also a wreckers in either Townsville or Cairns (can't remember which) that had some used caravan parts including vents but they couldn't help us with the winder screws we wanted.
Might be worth giving this mob in Caboolture a ring too, they may be able to steer you in the right direction if they don't have what you are looking for, they have been around for a long time and repair all sorts of vans;
Please I need some help
where can I find some Brown air vents for a 89 Viscount caravan
I've been looking everywhere
cheers john
