After having the new head light fitted and the other one looking a bit shabby I finished polishing the L/H headlight and used toothpaste to get it back to new looking again. Standing back and looking at both I can't see much if any difference between them so just to let you know, plain label toothpaste did the job with a little elbow grease and a kitchen non scratchy scourer. I couldn't find the disk for the drill as it is in hiding somewhere. I put a coating of 'Rain X' on both while doing the windscreen to help repel water.
Tug now all done and dusted and ready to get back out there.

I'll try the toothpaste next time Doug, can to explain a bit more on what a "non scratchy scourer" is - do you mean the green ones with foam on the reverse side or another type?
We've found some of the green ones will scratch aluminium pans so I'd imagine they'd scratch plastic as well.

Denis

Yes Denis the green with foam (Vileda Brand) they are listed as 'Non Scratch' and worked well.
You are right John and no cavities either as the said paste had fluoride.
