This is the week for final preparations to my new life. The MH is going in today for her update on things audio, you know the gee whiz box in the dash board, Bluetooth,GPS and all that boy stuff that one needs. Then tomorrow or Wednesday she will be re-dressed in modern navy and white striped drapes, a spring clean completed and then all my stuff to be loaded in.
I am actually nervous about driving her down the street for the first time this morning. Although have driven her home from Mildura and driven other MHs this morning I am nervous. Or maybe it is just excitement, lets go with that....
house nearly completed, down to the dregs and cleaning. Will be completely houseless by mid next week. Cannot wait.
So not too far away from being a "real" GN.

Great news and you are right, it is exciting when the time is creeping up, I reckon you will not get much sleep the night before you leave though. I wouldn't say those dash additions are just for the boys though, they are things that make travel easier for boys and girls.
The main thing is just enjoy every moment leading up to the big day next week and even more important enjoy the playground but make sure you,

I'll be in the same situation in a few months, Sharon, and probably a bit more nervous than you sound. Also, thanks for the new drapes tip... a great way to jolly up the camper. Meanwhile, happy travels!

Not sure Jules where I will end up, greens certainly on the list.
Doug they are boys toys but the ladies will use them. I am impressed with the new bits. My eldest did good picking out what I needed.
Marge and Spida, definitely will meet up on the road somewhere. Adventures and fun to be had.
Gary a new dress on any lady always makes her smile. My lady had lovely blue/green pelments with lovely baby poo yellow curtains, the poor girl needed an update badly and some fashion advice. Waiting for the navy blue and white to arrive.
Giving her a good clean and then tomorrow should be able to start adding my stuff to the cupboards. It is slowly stArting to take shape and little by little I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Is....My Lady...her name.
Navy and White always in fashion.
Will she be your avatar ?
How exciting, a new beginning from when you exit the driveway...and drive safely on the road as Doug says. Wonderful times ahead.

Hi Country road,
No, her name is going to be Miss Daisy, (as in driving). Must see that movie, it is one of my favourite sayings when out driving with a girlfriend of mine and she suggested it, thought it sounded good and fitted so that is what it will be.
Will she be my Avatar, that is something I have not thought about, but certainly a possibility. I actually have not taken any pics of her just yet. I have been too darn busy cleaning and packing up. Will do that after tomorrow, she gets her new fashion treatments then.
As far as when I exit the driveway, well, I have always said my first stop will be a lovely free camp area at Dartmoor, Victoria, which is about 40kms down the road. So that is still the plan for now and from there, who knows.

Ha, what a good movie.........Miss Daisy is a great choice.
40 kms is probably a good choice, already on your way, no time to think about it and you'll be there....no how much longer thoughts. it will be great
Happy travels

Hi Shekon
I'm currently in Wycheproof and wondering with your knowledge of this area can you suggest any free camps between here and Port Augusta?

Hi Steve,
I actually do not know that area of Victoria much at all. Have travelled the roads there to visit rellies but not as a GN. Between there and Pt Augusta there would be many free camps, and of course that would depend on your route also. My suggestion is the bible, camps7, and take it from there.
There maybe others on the forum that have better knowledge than myself. Sorry I could not be of more assistance at this point in time.
