We camped there 2 weeks ago, lots of great camping spots, there are some well maintained drop toilets, but depending where you camp they are a drive away. You need to bring your own water, and I was surprised by the total lack of any firewood, I managed to find enough for a fire one night, but you'd be wise to pick up firewood from the roadsides before you arrive.

Hi smiffy - Christies Beach is a great area - the reason for lack of firewood would be the number of campers who collect it over the time. Very busy place in the summer season - as you would find at any of the camps along the Murray. Have you been out here to Greens Lake? Midland Highway between Shepparton and Bendigo at Corop? Firewood is a problem out here as well, but we manage.

Thanks Jules and Alan/Adele, next time I'm up that way I'll certainly look at dropping in. After Christies, we drove to Wodonga and camped at Mt Granya state park, there was only one other camper, heaps of firewood.
