Gary Kelly gave the answer, ??? we all carry a spade !! and we are usually surrounded by Bush, so take a walk dig a hole and bury it ?? BUT not near waterways or dams !
Edit ? Some State parks that i have been to, have Signs up Advising campers to responsibly dispose of waste in this manner !

Was wondering if anyone else saw the need to carry an extra toilet cassette in the van...for those times you cant get to a dump point!!
Would it be useful???

We are thinking ofr getting a second one for the new rig to free camp in. Saves running to a dump point if your miles away. Havnt decided yet, but we have thought about it.

I thought emptying one was bad enough without the need to emptying a second one. that's 2 holes to dig.

Yep, they come in two sections... the top bit for flushing and sitting, and the bottom bit (cassette) for waste. The bottom bit is the bit you carry (looking somewhat undignified) to the dump point.

Remember the days Gary when we had the nightman come and collect the out house waste.
Well it kind of is back in vouge while camping, we become the nightman...and I always used to say to myself when I seen the nightman doing his rounds...Gee no way would I want his job.!!! Well guess what now I do it and don't even get payed to do it as he would have.

Yep, the dunny man. One of the first jokes I ever heard was about the dunny man who was on the back of his truck searching for something when his mate asked him what it was. "I dropped my jacket," the dunny man said. His mate was horrified. "You're not gonna wear the jacket after it's been in there are you?" To which the dunny man replied, "Nah... but my lunch is in the pocket."

I'm grossed out at the thought of carrying not only one but two containers of excrement around!
What happens in the event of a leak? even a very small one?

We have decided to carry an extra cassette for the vacuum toilet we are fitting, less water, less smell and no chemicals.
Yes Gary, remember the 24 door sedan well. Also remember learning some new swear words when the dunnyman picked up our can and the bottom fell out. (was only a kid then)

Hi.We carry a second thetford cassette.Since leaving NQ it has hardly stopped raining.Much better to wizz out and change cassette and leave full one under van or in annex to empty later.Have had no odour problems.Nothing worse than discovering a full cassette last thing before bedtime. We carry spare in annex when camping and in tool box when on road.To c arry a spare in my mind is a treasure.
