Happy Left Handers Day to all you lefties!
http://www.lefthandersday.com/
I have often said the nicest people in the world are left handed Sagittarians, followed bu all other lefties, with common old right handers dragging along in the rear!
Left-handedness test
We all know in which hand we hold a pen, but how far does this bias extend throughout your body? Are you left-eared? Left eyed? Here is a simple test you can apply to yourself.
If you have always considered yourself to be right or left-handed you will probably now have discovered that your body is less than total in its devotion to its favoured side. If you are right-handed the chances are that you were not able to be 'right' 10 times.
John is more left than I am. According to that test, I'm more right than left, but I write left handed. Screw driver, either or. Hammer, left. Table tennis bat, left. Golf club, right. Scissors, right. Phone, left. Dialling, right. It's all so confusing. One of my party tricks is "mirror writing" or writing backwards with my left hand. Apparently, da Vinci wrote all his notes that way.
Almost forgot... just to add to the confusion, I used a mouse left handed but a laptop touch pad right handed.

Gday...
An interesting, and perhaps informative, waste of 5 minutes
Cheers - John
Its a good 'test' Rip and Rosie...thank you. Its what you do 'without thinking' that this test is all about and quite revealing perhaps.
I've almost always been assumed to be 'ambidextrous' (except by my 'early-years' teachers, whom saw me as cack-handed).......though ambidextrous is, by definition, a rare category; and certainly incorrect re me. I always reckon I am a leftie; but quite ok with most things with either hand being dominant..... and I suspect a lot of us are too, to certain a degree.
IMHO, many of us are simply 'mixed-handed', though the lefthand-dominant folk are often MUCH more noticed as different and certainly such folk are given the opportunity to be much more aware of things being not in their favour (eg chainsaw, windup watch, writing........etc)
Total left handed in kindy when the Teacher gave me sixpence to change over to right.
I now write right hand and everything else left, including drawing.
Have you noticed most of our best cricketers are left handed ?( in the past.)
Dick.

Incidentally, on the mirror writing thing, if it's natural for a right hander to write left to right, then it follows that it's natural for a leftie to write right to left. Which explains why mirror writing is relatively easy for some lefties.
I'm left dominant. Golf, softball etc was either or...I was no good either way. *eyes rolling*
The only thing I do right handed is the mouse for the laptop. That may have come about from years on checkouts where everything was on the right.
Oh and I use a knife and fork right handed, but the spoon left handed. So if there's a dessert fork, I'm in a quandary.
I've always copped flack when peeling veggies or using a knife. Everyone seems to think I'm going to cut my fingers off.
