Read that K Mart are recalling the Jackeroo 240v are pump sold between March 2008-May 2013.
As some pumps have internal damage to the electrical insulation in the cord,which is not always visible
and can cause severe electrical shock.
Also a recall on Suzuki-Alto (Motor Vehicle )
And the Mitsubishi Outlander MY2013.

All these recalls make you wonder about quality control these days Herbie. If it still exists of course.

There has to be a lot of investigation before any manufacturer will recall their product. When the evidence overwhelms them or there is a death or two they opt for a voluntary recall before the government body or courts orders a recall. With recalls that stretch over a long period they hope it has failed or worn out and the buyer has binned it and put it down to bad luck
