I had read the reviews/previews of the Lone Ranger movie, starring Johnny Depp, and was surprised and a bit disappointed that it was considered a hopeless movie and not worth seeing.
Despite that, a friend went and saw it on the weekend and told me it was very good. So last night I went to the theatre to see for myself.
If you like extremely well acted, tongue-in-cheek spoofs then this movie of the Lone Ranger we loved on TV many years ago will appeal to you.
You really need to concentrate on the subtleties in the dialogue and be watching and listening for many 'not so obvious' things.
I recommend it as probably the best movie I have seen this year.
Treat yourself - SEE IT ! !

Going by the trailers Rocky it looked really good. I did go to see it but was unwell and did a uee and went to bed instead. I don't think the others in the cinema would be very happy if I went now as I still have a very bad cough so will run out of time now. I would expect it to be good with JD in it.
I saw the trailers awhile ago and thought it looked good. I don't think you can go wrong with Johnny Depp. Such a great actor in any part, but he's great with tongue in cheek. eg: Pirates of the Caribbean.
I know the Heat was discussed somewhere else on here, but I saw it on Tuesday, and I totally agree that it's hilarious! They must have had such fun making it. Yes, there is a fair amount of effing, but it suits the character so well. Melissa McCarthy is my new favourite actress.
Looking forward to seeing The Lone Ranger.

Roxy and I shouted ourselves to the Lone Ranger last week. Very Pirates of the Caribbean orientated from Johnny Deep but in saying that, we loved the whole movie and yes, you will have to concentrate a little but hey it's good for the old grey matter
