Don't take this wrong way, but to my friends, she's Motel Mercedes. Believe me, after camping out in the cot tent, this is luxury. I'm still exploring her possibilities.

ditto Sheba, we need inside pics please
with a rig like that you must have flashing lights if you find the lights flattern your batteries there should be a switch on the dash to turn them off

Well, here I am in sunny Mackay, resting after a 6 day trip from Border Village. Betty certainly made the trip easy. Yes, she has duels back there on each end of the rear axle. Fortunately they are light truck tyres not Goodrich All-Terrains. It won't hurt quite so much to change over when I get new ones. I'm not sure when I'm off again, or where to, but I'm hovering here and catching up with stuff like housework and washing. It never stops, no matter where we travel to, eh girls. Oh, and boys on their own. It's such a tough life. The hardest part of the job is head wind, and then traffic, but not always in that order. Keep those radios tuned to channel 40, it makes our job so much easier - and your travels so much safer.

So - CG - you have upgraded from "the spare room" to a "granny flat" as JC says - good on you - won't know yourself. Hoping to catch up with you along the way!

I noticed a couple of weeks ago you had a new van in your avatar. I thought to myself then, Lucky CG, look what she's gone and got herself. I'm still very green with envy. Will be much more comfortable for you, Happy travels CG.

Green is not your colour Marj. I'm still getting my head around the fact I actually own a Mercedes Benz. The luxury of such a vehicle is something else I'm getting used to, in comfort. The people I work with have given Betty their seal of approval, and some have even made tentative bookings in "Motel Mercedes". They haven't posted a deposit yet, so their chances are pretty slim. The beacons are and will remain yellow, not red. Business at the front, recreation at the back. I'm off to Biloela tomorrow. All I have to do is negotiate roadworks south of Mackay at Bakers Creek. It's an absolute shamozzle. Avoid this section of the Bruce Highway if you can. The job is too big for the traffic controllers.
