About time some-body did something. Unfortunately, the ones, who have the Clout, do nothing. We'll end up importing every scrap of food soon, as well as everything else. God knows where we'll be when the earth resources either run out, or are no longer wanted.
Hopefully, I'll be gone before then.
Cheers,
Sheba.

As quoted by a former treasurer and later Prime Minister Mr Paul Keating.
If this Government cannot get the adjustment, get manufacturing going again, and keep moderate wage outcomes and a sensible economic policy, then Australia is basically done for. We will end up being a third rate economy... a banana republic.
And still we the public of Australia allow it to continue !

Just don't buy the bread from these big s/markets, I try to always buy from local bakery .Maybe a little bit dearer ,but at least it is made in Oz and fresh ,not frozen before you purchase it.Was watching a program on ABC not long back regarding this imported bread and also from some of the big name brands made in Oz and by the time it gets to the country towns from the bigger towns or city it also can be up to 3 days old.No wonder when one opens the packet it smells like vinegar.

We are constantly seeing Coles and Woolworths in the news and most times for the wrong reasons and usually for ripping the consumer off some earlier posts suggested someone should do something about it maybe the Federal or State Government, I don't think that's likely, they also believe they have a right to rip off the people and that we are too lazy to do anything about it.
As mentioned in the article there are potentially substantial fines that the ACCC can issue for this type of offence but believe me it won't happen.
There is only one way to help Australian manufactures and that's to pay more attention to the labels although in this case Coles have used strongly misleading labels so as I said we are the only ones that can do anything about this by not buying anything from Coles or Woolworths in any of their different brand names.

I agree with you aussietraveller, if we don't buy that rubbish from those thieves we could show them we wont put up with their rip-offs. Trouble is, in lots of towns, there's just no choice. Lots of people can only afford to buy at the lowest price regardless. We cant win!
