I have been at Agnes Water since last Tuesday and feel it is probably time to move on. I know it is easy to look up the CAW book etc but has anybody got any places heading north that they recommend? Obviously free or budget is preferable. It has cost $6 / night here at Workman's Beach and have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Calliope is good and, in my view, a reasonable distance to drive in one day. Take the main highway until about 5 or 6 kms past the Calliope turnoff (ahorrible mess with lots of road works) and on your left you'll see the Historical Village (really badly signposted). Turn left there and follow the road until you see a 'Road Closed' sign. Turn right and look for a spot to park. It has toilets but no drinkable water. It's right beside a river and, best of all, it's free.

Cania Gorge is worth a look. Either go through the Mt. Perry road or go north to the next turn off. I used to go across the Pinnacles [ about 1968 ] through Kalpowar but who know what that road is like now.

Ended up going with another lady through to Yaamba. Not sure where to tomorrow though.
