Want a break - and free power and water, plus own toilet? Pine Creek museum needs volunteers - open from 10 - 2 during the week. get to park on the lawn beside the old station master's house and wander over to 'work' each day. I have just done 2 weeks there. Lovely having so many to chat to, and have read so many books also. comfortable chair to sit in. Take about 2 minutes to set up and close up!
A couple of good restaurants in this tiny village - a place full of surprises. Katherine is only 1 hour away for main shopping, basics available locally. Otherwise Pussycat Flats is only $15 per night powered for singles if you want to volunteer but not stay at the museum. Contact Rosie <reikirose@bigpond.com>
Am happy today - now have a lovely couple parked at the house and happy to volunteer for a couple of weeks = they are here to do gold prospecting so suits them just fine!

It is at the north end of the park - but may not have been open anyway. 2 trains there in a big shed, old house and a small but interesting museum.

that is a good one to know about! I love Pine Creek, pretty little park and walk around the lily ponds, some nice walks around the area, good pub/s and so on, I would love to spend some time there - maybe next year as I have just landed about 6 months temp work which will set me up nicely for being on the road all next year!
I would like to fix up the 'walk in time' tiles along the pathway there, I always liked that feature and was sad to see that many of the little tiles were broken or gone last year.
