G'day Thrice. What fridge are you looking for? One for the back of tow vehicle or one for inside van? We have an Evakool for back of Rodeo and more than happy with it.
Cheers Sol

Hi Thrice, and welcome to the forum.
My '88 model Viscount Nipper has the original Electrolux 3 way fridge in it, and still works. I also have a Aldi 3 way fridge which is a little beauty and a lot cheaper than any others I looked at. (Sorry, I forget just what I paid, but I know it was cheap.)
Personally, I would only go for a 3 way fridge, unless you're planning on being on power all the time.

Welcome from us too Thrice. Our fridge is a Dometic 3 way fridge. It's great. It replaced our original Electrolux fridge. I think they are probably the same company now. Our daughter has an Engel for her 4x4.

Howdy
I have used all brands of fridges and find its really only the features that count
My latest purchase is an arb 80 ltr and the only reason was the end opening lid
that suited my layout.
The fridges are made for arb by waeco ( dometic ) and i know a lot of serious travellers that use them
cheers

We've had a 30 liter Waeco in the back of the 4WD for about 10 years. It has survived all sorts of rough roads including a roll-over in the Kia Sorrento, and still keeps food nice and cool. I have heard theres other better ones available but we are very happy with the Waeco.

Yes, we have a Waeco. We thought it was a fridge but our daughter tells us it is just a cooler. Nonetheless, it has done a good job in the back of the car as an extra when needed.

HIall, had a 39 litre engel for 15 years, lots of use never let me down but just got a little tired. In the end would not keep temperature under 4-5 degrees. Eventually decided on a 60l Primus, great stainless steel case, however the electrics could be a little better, and requires the 12V supply to be spot on. However been on the road for for 12 months and is still OK. Next time I'll look at Evakool.

We also have a Waeco, ours is the Thermoelectric type.
Most people knock them badly, and for good reason, especially
the older types,with poor performance.
Ours is the TC series, TC-35.with built in Temperature control.
Works like a Charm,if you use it Properly.
1,It is Not a Fridge,cool it on 240 Volt before leaving,or put in a
couple of 1/2 sheets of Techni-Ice first.
2,Works extremely well,if you travel only in milder Climates
like NSW,where we live.
If you intend to travel around the really hot regions of Australia,
then Please buy one of the Compressor type Fridges Mentioned.
Ours Lives,on the back seat of the Car,Fantastic for storing Meat,
