Hi all, I am starting my knitting for charity for the year while travelling and looking for a pattern for adults beanie in 8 ply. I have patterns but do you think that I can find them, so if anyone out there can help me in the number of stitches I will need and the depth to make it before starting the crown. I would really appreciate your help.
A big thank you in advance.
Cheers, Chicken.

I will be using 8 ply. Just need the number of stitches and depth thanks.
I bought patterns for beanies (and other things) for next to nothing at Vinnies or Lifeline - can't remember which. They tend to have a much better selection of patterns than the shops and at a much better price.

Hi First to say Sorry I did not notice in your post you had quoted 8ply. The pattern I have says 4.00mm / size 8 needles cast on 128 sts knit 49 rows then shape crown. I will scan pattern on Tuesday and send to you and also see if I have any more.
Another pattern has a band using size 10 / 3.25mm and cast on 132sts knit 8 / 10 rows and change to 4.00mm / size 8 needles and knit approx 23cm then start crown will send pattern.

Thank you Judy, this has been a great help. I have done a lot of knitting in my years and decided to start my first beanie with 130 stitches, so this will work out. Your count of 49 rows is a help and the crown will work out fine now.
Thank you for your time and effort. It has been much appreciated.
