Can anyone one tell me what a good roof hatch is for a motorhome/campervan with a fixed roof (ie; not a pop top).
Is it best to get one with a fan (12V or 240V ???), a small fixed one or a big one with an opening vent, close for travelling etc?
I would want this to act as a means for cooking fumes to escape preferably or just to allow air to circulate when parked up, with suitable flyscreening of course.
Any ideas please, also makes and models if known,
Thanks

Vic I would imagin some of the small flap up vents that are often fitted over caravan showers would work all right in that application, ours has a small 12 volt fan in the midle of it as well. I think they are probably made by Demetic. Do you have a roof lining in your van to contend with when you fit it?

Hi Vic, try Award RV superstore they have all types of vents for caravans and RVs. If you go for the fan type remember that you will need to run a power supply up to it. I have two 14inch vents in mine which works well in the bus.
Cheers

Thanks Landy, yes it is lined, but I won't be doing it myself, will let the professional RV specialists do it, not too keen on punching a hole int he roof myself in case I get it wrong, lol !

Thanks Hammer, I'll look them up and see what they have, do you have power on yours ? 12V or 240V ? Or do they work ok without it, I don't have a shower or toilet on board.

Hi Vic,
Mine are 14inch unpowered and work fine
Cheers
Thanks Hammer,
I have mine booked in to have an unpowered 14 inch fitted on Monday, probably a Jennings brand, discussing that when I take it in.
I am having it done by Dove campers, I have had work done by them before and was very happy with it.
Had a Fiamma Hatch installed today, thanks to all those who gave feedback and tips, see;
