Ten minutes on the ferry from Victoria Point - $2 ea way for concession. What a great spot - some beautiful houses, and a great little cafe serving really good coffee!!!
Can just imagine it in the summer season - a really good spot!!!! Glad we went over! Coochie Mudlo is off the coast, just out of Brisbane in Redland Bay. Ferry is from Vic Point.

Over 10 years ago I went on a bus trip out to Victoria Point. Loved the name of Coochiemudlo, promised myself I would do the boat trip over to the island one day. Haven't got there yet. Still on the bucket list.

Yes it is a lovely place, I visited there in another life as a golfer playing in an interclub competition.
I was a member of the now defunct Mango Hill Golf Club and we took turns in visiting other clubs for our Sunday Competitions.
A very nice little golf course as I remember and a very pleasant ferry ride across.

I grew up in the Brisbane bayside suburb of Manly. Spent a lot of time around the islands and fishing in Moreton Bay. But never got to Coochiemudlo. I think in those early years there was really nothing on the island to attract. I'll make a point of visiting next time I go to my home town..

In Summer the Bay area can be a fair test of GNs' warfare strategies against midges and salt water mozzies.
Heh, heh, 'sal****er'. Never had to split that type of mozzie into two words, 'salt' and 'water'.

As I have a sister at Point Lookout on Stradbroke island, I have passed by Coochie without going across for a look. I will make a point of getting the ferry across next time I am down there. Bill

Can imagine that there would be a lot of mozzies etc there - many, many years ago we went to Bribie Island when it was just a mozzie and mangrove infested swamp - now a most sophisticated place! Bet the mozzies etc still play up though!
