Horshoe Bend Camp Area near town of Merbein 10km n/west of Mildura.Camp sites along stretch of Murray River, All sites are sign posted from Old Wentworth Rd, near local racecourse and winery Accessed off River Ave in Merbein.
Free when we stayed .Walk to Town / good cheap pub meals at local pub. Can get most supplies needed in small township of Merbine. Goood local fresh fruit and vegs from farmers gate sales.

I had a look in my little black book i keep all my camp spots in and along the Murray River alone i have over 100, will have to go back and see if they all are still available for free or low cost camping.I did hear a lot of places each year are becoming a no go zone along the Murray. So better go back soon before they are all off limits. I do not use the camp bible any more i use Apps , more accurate ,as the bible is as accurate of time of print. And so much changes in such a short time regarding free/ low cost camping.
