As my Kindle had frozen in the 'on' position the battery went flat before I got to Darwin. so decided to go online and check for problem. Plugged in to computer - and the thing cleared itself and 'unfroze'. Also checked the web - put in 'Kindle freeze' and lots of advise there also. Still dont know where the 'reset' button is, but at least I have my book back in action again - Whew. Updated the software once I worked out where the 'menu' was - quite confusing but all done.

Spida, I think you will find the reset button on the bottom of the kindle. It is a tiny opening beside on/off switch.

Thanks Gail. There is a very narrow slot there but couldnt see anything else. Lets hope updating the software will prevent any further problems. Have 9000 books to read!

Trickie Dickie now has Paperwhite 3G Wi Fi Kindle for around $220.
Not available in Aussie when I got my 3G WiFi keypad model at XMAS.
Got my first Amazon Gift Card on my birthday last week. Makes present buying easy.
