Download the app called Photo Resize&Rotate from the App store. You can reset by size or percentage. I think the app is free or very cheap 0.99c.

I know for normal laptops you do have to downsize. I right click on the photo and go to paint. Then reduce to 30%. Works for me.
I know nothing about Ipads, so can't help you with that.

I do the same as HW, also 30% resize on Windows Paint, also use brushes to erase number plates on photo's for security purposes if needed, then save both settings....Works for me too and is free !!

I use Light Image Resizer, from Obviousidea, a free download & you can choose the size you wish just by typing in the size you wish.
I find that a 600x400 is good, very quick, can nominate where you wish the copy to go.

Mine is off a desktop, so not sure about Ipad, but on that if you have downloaded pics and nominated my pics as the destination they will go full size (eg; 2mb or similar). I believe if you want to print your pictures off full size sometime, it is best to go the My Pictures and right click on the photo, choose copy, the past a copy alongide the original (will show copy), then use the copy to downsize, leaving the original one unaffected for printing at any time.

I just use the free program "Prish". Once installed, I just R click on the photo, choose the size & it goes off & sets up a new folder 'resized' and puts a resized copy in it.
Must have a go at the MS Paint option too.

That's the one I use too Cupie, when I remember to use it. Nice and simple. Don't like having to fiddle around too much. This is so easy.

I double click to open, resize then' save as 'a different name will work also - leaves the original in tact.
