Centrelink have great and experienced financial advisors - who aren't in it for the money! Know a few people who have used them, and are quite happy - you can see them if you are "heading into retirement".

Gday...
I have used the Centrelink Financial Services Officer and found them extremely helpful - particularly in giving advice on how to structure your 'assets' to best advantage yourself. They also advise openly about what benefits Centrelink will/can offer.
Almost every bank also has a Financial Adviser on staff as well .... I know Commonwealth, Bendigo, NAB, and ANZ at least are free.
They are usually pretty good at giving general advice without pushing their 'product' .... try you own bank first.
cheers - John

This is my first post so bear with me.My wife is disabled, when I was employed she couldn't get a pension as I was earning too much.I now am unemployed and we are selling up to travel for 1to2 years should she apply for the disability pension or see a centrelink adviser first? I will also be applying for a carers pension.Any advice would be appreciated.

Personally, I would go and see the financial adviser at Centrelink, he is the best person to advise you regarding your position with pensions, etc.
Welcome to the site Kevin - hope you find it helpful and fun!!!!!!! We like fun!!!!
