Coopernook was one of the first free camps that I camped at when I set off on my trip around Australia and ended up as one of my top ten. Enjoy your trip.
Can't believe how clean and tidy the Hi Ace was then with the colours still bright. Looks sad now next to the Coaster but did it's job well for 50,000kms

At last I'm taking off tomorrow. Caravan is hitched up, fridge cold, battery charged, water full, have I forgotten anything? That remains to be seen, usually its a yes. Hoping it won't be anything to important. I'll check the tires on the way out in the morning. I need to reboot my check list for where I've stored things, probably wont find what I want when I need it until I have. Getting excited !!!!
I'll only travel a few hours on the first day, I want to check out Coopernook State Forest. My luck though !!! it looks like its going to rain. Bugger....but doesn't really matter.
Started a blog the other day, not sure if I'll advertise it. After reading other very interesting blogs, mine could end up being boring. And I could still tweek some parts of it, I'm only a learner. Anyway it will occupy the mind making entrys.
Hope to bump into plenty of GN's

Heading north from Port Stephens at a smails pace Jules.
John, I hadn't read this page on your blog, thanks. The last time I was at Coopernook I was told the old house in the middle of the camp ground was to be demolished and a flushing toilet block would replace it. Let you know how it is.
Ok lock the door, I'm otta here....

Good to here that you are finally on your way. I am on my way back to the Bay for a couple of weeks
and was hoping to catch up with you for coffee before you left. Looks like we are destined not to meet
just yet. You will enjoy every minute I am sure.
Keep safe

G'day Helen. Coopernook is not far from where I live in Taree. I was there a while ago taking a few pics and came across a house that had burned down the day before. Met the owner and chatted for a while, and he let me wander around the yard to take photos of the ruins. It was one of (if not the) oldest houses in town with a most interesting history. You can see the photo album here.

Don't worry about what you might have forgotten to pack, in my experience, if it's something essential like your toothbrush you can buy another. If it's a non-essential like your husband, you can do without till you get back (With apologies to all the husbands out there)

I lost my last partner when I went and got the bus serviced and forgot where I left her LOL. That was four years ago and the memory get dimmer and dimmer. Besides I don't go the QLD anymore as there is so much to see down south. Regards Brian
