Went for a bit of a road trip on Tuesday this week and ended up here, lovely looking Alpine Resort not that I am into skiing, anyway stopped at a trout farm on the way and bought a smoked trout, the best $7 we have ever spent and I have to say (not being a big fish lover ) was the best fish I have ever tasted, wish we had bought more so will have to go back and get some more before we leave here.

Baw Baw is lovely, especially in the summer months - as are most of the ski resort areas!!! Donna Buang - up through Warburton - is another nice spot for a trip. Warburton itself is a lovely little town.

Have very fond memories of Mt Baw Baw.
One year we camped in the car park with our tent. Woke up the next morning with snow everywhere and cars parked all around us. PUt on our gear, grabbed the skis and off uup the moountain.
It still had rope tows in those days, we had never been there before and had a hell of a time trying to grab onto the rope and keep holding it as the rope passed over the wheels, kept falling off. Then someone told us about the "nutcrackers" Duh did we feel stupid.

It strikes me that being a GN opens up all kinds of possibilities to discover lots of little towns that would otherwise remain unknown. What an interesting and charming way to see Oz! All we ever hear about from mainstream media is the famous icons, so it's a delight to see comments such as those above.

sorry should have said Victoria, we are currently in Pakenham in C/P, have been since January will probably be here for another couple of months, hubby working here, so we get to do some sightseeing when he has time off, we had never heard of Mt Baw Baw either...........so much to see in this state and not a lot of travelling to see it.
