Best yabby bait is a dead sheep's head after it has been in the paddock for a week and stinks very badly!! Failing this get a dogs bone from the butcher's, leave it in the sun for a couple of hours, good too.

An old wire coathangar and an onion net from the vegie shop and make up a net, all you need is some Spam for bait and leave in the water for a while and pull it in every now and again.Cheap and cheerfull and it works.

If you want to sit there, a piece of meat tied in the middle with a bit of string, drop near the bank where all the holes are and watch. As soon as one lamps onto it, pull it up gently, they wont let go and you can pull them right out of the water.....

Yum. Nothing better than a nicely fresh cooked yabby. Free food dawa. Or as my cousin says, 'Be a freegan!' (as opposed to a vegan!)
