We were out walking the other morning.....its a nice friendly place, Did the usual thing of saying "good morning" to the gentleman approaching as we walked by the river, husband also added "top day isn't it" the reply came "sure is and we got it for FREE" kept a grin on our faces all day!
cheers Capricorn

You saying that you had a grin all day reminds me of a saying my mother had, "a smile doesn't cost you anything, so be generous with them", so, I'll send you a "virtual" smile. Cheers, Annie

I received a text message from my 37 year old son who's working away at the moment.
I had been emailing him updates about my recent health problems, so it must have been praying on his mind.
He said he'd had a terrible nightmare about me and he woke up crying. So he text me to tell me this and say that he loved me.
The best thing someone has said to me for a long time.

Maybe my reply wasn't what you had in mind C&P but that's what sprung to mind.

Well Beth, my son is like yours, and he puts a smile on my face every time we speak. He is 36 and lives in Canada. He tells me he loves me all the time. Life is beautiful...SARG.

I should have also said that this is a rarity in my family. That's why it was so special to me. We all know we love each other, but no-one says it out loud. Not that he actually did, it was a text, but that's close enough for me.

I have a son just like that Beth, have saved a text he sent me saying the same thing..............his best friend had just died and we had all been at the funeral, so sad but he thought to let us know that.

Dougwe has the habit of putting "and I tell you this for free" , doesn't say it when he speaks though -!!

I was walking along the creek a couple of weeks ago and came across 3 young lads of about 7-9 yrs old fishing, I stopped and asked them if they had caught anything - I tried hard to keep a straight face when the smallest lad told me quite seriously 'no, we are just down here wetting the lines, it's what blokes do you know'
