Cheap Camping Ground for Solo's without pets about 45 minutes (50 kms) east of Perth - Lake Leschenaultia

Any solo's travelling to or from Perth via the Great Easter Highway wanting a reasonably priced campsite for the night may be interested in this, small rigs only, eg; camper trailers, campervans and small motorhomes under 6 metres long (but check with them first about the motorhome, let them know it is only small) or tents. No caravans or pets allowed. Powered sites, good camp kitchen with fridge and microwave, modern ablution blocks with flush toilets and the whole campground has mains water including the outside taps. Free use of washing machine and dryer.
Swimming, cycling, walking etc (good walk around the lake) and canoeing (own or hire). Cafe/Kiosk recently renovated open on some days.
Also good for a day visit and picnic, free entry.
Camping fee is a one off fee of $20 for first night plus camping fee of $8, then $8 a night for any extra nights. The $8 is per person.
I stayed there for awhile as caretaker and would commute to Perth some days to a near Perth suburb, only took me 30 minutes to get home, but allow 45 minutes to Perth to be on the safe side.
Lake Leschenaultia is reached via the Chidlow turn off on Great Eastern Highway and about 5 kms from the highway via Chidlow.
Recommend booking but usually turning up on spec is ok if it is not during school or public holidays, mid week is best, but avoid the place during the holidays if you don't like crowds. Worth popping in during daylight hours to check the place out for another time if passing by, isn't far off the highway. Please Note: The main entrance to Lake Leschenaultia is off Rosedale Road. Off a side road near there is another camping site called Camp Leschenaultia, this is a christian group camp so if you are googling the Lake camping are be aware there is another.

I also came across this tonight by total accident. Seems interesting:

It's a campsite/CP between Waroona and Dwellingup. Seems to have rate for single campers, which is (a) Good and (b) unusual. Might drop in for a night or two on my way south later this week.

I had a look at Navarino, but didn't stay there, stayed instead at the Waroona Caravan Park, sites have their own ensuite and slab. Navarino was the park where someone in a caravan died about 6 months back when a tree branch landed on them.
They gave me a single discount but I can't recall what it was now, I think I paid about $13 (full price for two was $26).
Regards Lake Leschenaultia, if you don't like crowds (also may not be able to get in if not booked during holiday time) best avoid school/public holidays or weekends (lots of people come into the picnic area).

I enjoyed that day trip to Lake Leschenaultia that we did mate .. a very nice venue which would lend itself well to short overnight stays .. very pretty little spot indeed !

It was a great day Jon, one of my favorite spots, as you know I did a stint as caretaker there for 8 weeks over X'mas/New Year/Australia Day and School holidays.....love the place!
PS: Did you get my pm regards the extension lead to tyre compressor????
