I'd guess you've taken them in a large format, with the higher mega pixels the real size of a photo can be huge
if you don't cut them down a bit.
I take mine in the smallest for posting on internet and for photos you're having printed big is good even in a
normal photo size. There are usually a few different sizes to choose from. You will get used to it.

There are a number of ways you can reduce the size of them and programs etc, I use paint.
Go to where you have saved your photo's, choose one and right click on it, a drop down menu will show, pick "open with" and another menu will show, choose "paint" and when that comes up click on resize up on the left, backspace on 100 and put in 25 (or can use a bit bigger if you wish) and then go up to the little save screen that looks like a TV and click on that (the save button). Carry on with other photos etc.. Hope that helps...
