My son doesn't own one but he thinks they are great....
Personally I don't like them, I would never own one. The reason being, when I travel round Australia...I want a brand of vehicle that I can get parts for easily without waiting to have them trucked in from interstate. This is why we chose a Toyota Prado, they are only a 4 cylinder vehicle, its diesel, so fuel efficient, its well known and parts are easier to come by than for the Great Wall vehicles.
But this is just my opinion.

Just a word of warning, there is a Great Wall ute driving around Hervey Bay in Qld.In the back he has a sign bemoaning Great Wall for a terrible Warranty atitude.
His sign says that the clutch disentigrated at 1500 K's and they wouldn't honour the warranty hence him driving with the sign in the back of his tray.
I should imagine it will not happen to all warranty claims and all I have to go on is his sign and his side of the story.
I reckon if you buy cheap you get cheap.

We tow with a Great Wall x240 Petrol. I have just had a 40,000k service done.
No problems, they found a couple of warranty problems which were fixed on the spot.
One other is awaiting a part, but covered.
The tug tows my Jayco Starcraft with no problems. The Van is rated at 1200k and the tug at 1800k.
It is a manual, Torque is 200Nm at 2000-3000rpm. Hey it's a manual and I can change gears.
Fuel consupmption locally is around 11.5l/100k
Towing depending on wind hills etc. varies from 10.8-12.5l/100k. I believe the diesel gets better mileage,
but is rated at a lower tow weight. I think 1700k.
This is the first time we changed from the "normal" type of tug, buut we are very happy with our choice.
The choice is yours, how you make that choice is through asking questions, getting info, and selecting what
suits you.
Good Luck and enjoy the journey.
