The Australian Tourism has launched this massive campagine to try to lure the over seas traveller to come see your grate country,By offering 6 people the job of a life time for 12 months, it is aimed at the 20/35 age bracket.As they recon they make up x amount of the o/s visitors. Iam thinking they have missed the target here,and should have offered a retired person/persons a go at earning the one hundred grand on offer. As the retired person would be showing the cashed up retireing person over where ever ,what they can get for their buck over here .But then again all this hyp is geard towards the big players i guess .Not us people who stay clear of the ritz and glitz .

Would you believe that they have a web page on how to survive on a shoe sting while travelling Oz.It even tells them to take the toilet rolls from public toilets would you believe.Some where even sprung staying at some of the refuge shelters for the flood victims up this way...They come here for short periods of travel and then leave ,with no regard for the mess they leave behind for the rest of resposible travellers to clean up,must also point out that regarding litters it is not just the back packers that leave a mess.Have also notices at a lot of the truck stops now if one goes for a wonder around the bush in the area , there is so many truck tyers laying around in the scrub.To me that is worse than letting a little bit of water drain onto the dry vegitation.

They were in trouble again last week for going to the food for the homeless vans and getting food they are not entitled to. Salvation Army was trying to find out if it was on a website telling them how to live in the streets and go to the food vans.

Copied from a blog site, interesting to see how other people think.....
If you dont want to ask you can swipe it. This is a little different than stealing in that, you just walk in, take what is offered to the public free, and make out like a bandit. For example. You can walk into any free continental breakfast serving hotel and act like you spent the night. Chances are the night shift switched out long before the breakfast is served and therefore the front desk has no idea if you stayed there or not. Take as much as you can eat and stuff into a baggy. The same goes for taking free samples at grocery stores and displays in the mall or wherever you find them. Take as much as you want, who cares? If the place can afford to have them you can take them all if you like. Go to the deli and ask for a slice of a couple diffrent meats & cheese. Resteraunts often have free salad and breadsticks. Eat them while drinking water, and leave, (leaving a few bucks for the waitress if you like, after all its not her fault she has to serve a bum). College campuses have tons of free food especially around orentation week. If you look like a student, not only can you eat lots of free food, but mingle right and you can han gout at parties, and maybe even go home with a few dates!

Last motel we stayed at, they had a counter where they asked your name and room number before you could sit down for breakfast, continental or otherwise, so perhaps they are waking up to the freeloaders.
Wife and I were at McDonalds the other day and a business bloke seated near us must have had a value meal with chips but didn't want them, and walked out leaving them on the table. I said to my wife, if we were down and out, we could come in here, read the free newspapers, get a free seniors coffee (I think with McDonalds you have to buy something to get the free seniors coffee, but not at Hungry Jacks) or not, watch the tables for any uneaten food (partial burger, tear the bitten bits off) and have a good feed! Need to be quick before the table is cleared though, some leave there left overs on the table, others put it in the bin...
I can remember a GN and myself from here at a McDonalds in the early hours of the morning (24/7 Macca's) on the way home from the airport going into one for a paid early breakfast and using the free internet for his laptop, so that is another plus for anyone who has a laptop.

Yeah well what does, or can, one say. If the buggers are that lousy they can line up to lick my fingers after the next camp oven flying fox stew.

A couple of links for the finger lickers Jim (PS: Hope you washed your hands beforehand ! );
I remember a publican at Bega in the '70s who served free sausage rolls and ****tail franks on a Friday after 5pm so the drinkers would forget about going home to the missus and dinner, and buy more beers. Hehe. Crafty bugger.
