I have now found out the travel permit needed to take our Eclectus Parrot into WA. It's called an Import license and to take him back from WA a Export License. If anyone needs to do the same this is the people to contact to organise your license. Ph 08 94232441 wildlifelicensing@dec.wa.gov.au
Hope this helps anybody travelling with birds. It's not easy to find these people. You do have to give them 3 days at least to process and you must state the exact day you are crossing the border.
