HI JOHN
I DON'T MEAN THE ONES FOR RECORDING THE ONES THAT ACTUALLY PICK UP TV STATIONS

I think that is what he meant snap1946, thats the way i read it anyway... Great idea to purchase a small HD TV now days, laptops are running the hard drive, fan, and processor... all using more power than a stand alone TV will. But a dongle is a good idea for those with space issues...
A DVB-T/DAB/FM dongle can also be used for a lot more than just TV for those interested in other media streams.

The only issue I found with the one I have is that the reception is no where near the potential of a good topbox or quality TV's tuner.

no problem at all with it we watch the programs what we recorded on a 42 inch screen and it is as clear as the TV itself

The dongle is just a TV tuner (or sometimes it contains 2 tuners.) It comes with software so your computer can display the output of the tuner on the screen. There is also software that comes with the dongle and allows the computer to record the programmes to your computers hard disk if you so require.

Thanks Peter that's the way it works
on the volume bar and channel change the is most likely an red button that's the one for recording
in the program setup you have to tell it where to store your recorded tv programs
