Hi. I am needing to get a TV antenna for my poptop and am suitably confused by the wide range on offer.
Am hoping that some of the "techies" on this site may assist, and explain why they recommend a particular type / brand.
Much anticipation and many thanks in advance. KB

I'm not too crazy about bits sticking up outside my camper so I settled for an indoor antenna that runs on power (240V). I tried with my TV in the house first to see if it worked okay and it does. Out in the sticks it might be a different story but them's the breaks. My only other question now is do I have to run auto tune (seeker) on the TV every time I camp in a new spot or cross state borders.
Regional TV stations transmit on different frequencies and sometimes use vertical polarization instead of the common horizontal. So yes Gary, a rescan of channels is needed if you travel some distance.

We have had the "Explorer" C2 for 10 years and it still works fine we upgraded the cabling for the digital TV. The booster runs on 12volt entirely as does the TV.
In 10 years of travel we have only had bad reception when digital first came in and we were using a set top box.
The replacement now is the "Explore" C3 which is more compact and easier to store.

Throughout Australia you need an antenna that will do both VHF and UHF, vertical and horizontal as there can be a combination of both/all depending on your location.
you can also do this, I have put in spaces the quote marks in red so that you can see them here, so just do as below and take out ALL spaces, the red text does not need to be red, just done that to highlight them.

you have to 'link' things - so I found with my blog link on my signature.
Advanced editor then highlight the http://www.matchmaster.com.au/domestic/combination-antennas/01mm-de13 - you will see the 'chain link' between the 'T' box and the 'a' box in the second line will be hightlighted - click on that and you link will become active.

Another method.
When you are typing your post and copy/paste or type a link to it, put cursor behind link, click an move one space, then link will turn blue and be clickable.
If you forget, edit your post, click cursor behind link and move one space and link will turn blue and submit post again - done!
