I want to start my travelling and was wondering if anyone would like to share their thoughts or experiences on earning an income whilst doing so. I am not eligible for the pension for 19 years yet, but am stuck in a job I hate. I don't own my home, it's a rental, so am happy to sell everything I own (except my van) and work my way around the country. My experience is being a solo mum for many years and office/admin work. I've also tried night fill and traffic controlling for a few months each. I've read about the fruit picking, but would love to hear what others do to generate income while they travel. Thanks

Welcome to the site Where to Next, there is always work on the road, go to your local centerlink tell them waht you plan to do and they will provide a lot of info of work around the country, also ask at caravan parks.

Hi Wombat,
i took the opportunity to call into a centrelink on my way home from the doctors today, and after waiting almost one hour in alpine of people, the CustomervLiason person didn't havea clue what I was talking about. Told me that they couldn't help, if my money ran out phone them 4-6 weeks prior to being broke, register for benefits, but I would need to be actively seeking full time employment through my chosen employment agency. She suggested I go next door and ask the employment agency for information.

Any suggestions where to go from here ?
