Hi all, I bought my escape in September 2012 and have been travelling since. I love driving it as it is like a car to drive, but in hindsight I would now buy something larger, perhaps a Ceduna. I travel with my two dogs, one large and one small, the van has two pretend single beds plus a double bed that drops down from the ceiling, I am lucky i am short otherwise this area of the van would be far too low.
I bought the van with 5000km on the clock, it now has 16000km on the clock. A few little things going wrong like on a very bumpy road bed in ceiling will drop down about six inches, and one shower door has worked it's way off the hinges as all the screws became loose. When I return to Melbourne it will be intersting to find out if I am perhaps covered under some sort of warranty or not to have these looked at. Also hot water has never worked since purchase, but i have been too busy travelling to get it seen to. Plan to spend three months in Melbourne so all these little things will be fixed. Regards, heather
Welcome to the forum from us. Glad you have already enjoyed your rig and hope you can get those things fixed.

I have seen those vans with the drop down beds, but never seen them in action how long does it take to drop down?, would save mucking around with making the beds up all the time
just wondering if with the hot water service have you tried to see if it has a switch some where ie with our van when we had it we had a hidden switch to turn on the hot water system ..
and welcome to the site!!

Thanks! The drop down bed is just press a button and it slides down, easy as, but the button is too far away, above the sliding entry door, it should be on the wall beside the bed area.

Welcome to grey nomads, another kiwi I am presuming. Love the van, would suit me, but not sure about the bed. Would probably end up sleeping on the pretend bed most of the time.

A warm welcome to the forum and your vehicle does look good, would suggest you dont leave the warranty issues too long if you purchased through a motor vehicle dealer you should have warranty, hope you continue to enjoy our fantastic country.
