Hi all, I'm heading to Darwin arriving late June and wondering if anyone knows of where I could camp for a bit. I have stayed at Shady Glen (now new name) but a bit exe for long term.Anyone know anything about Robbie Robbins reserve? It's $25 night now and pot luck I guess on a availability. Would appreciate some input .

Hi Evie N Rhys,
You could look at Oasis Tourist Park Virgina about 20klms south of Darwin.
In 2012 we payed $25 per night with Victorian Seniors Card not sure about cost now.

We were at the Oasis Park at Virginia in June 2012 and it was $29.00 per night but that was in there peak time. But a very well presented and clean park.
Maybe try the show grounds on the left just before the city, I'm not sure of the cost but I believe you have to vacate if they have any events.
But Darwin is great at that time of the year just make sure you have sandfly/midgie repellent as they can be quit fierce in some areas.

Thanks for that, Oasis is $33 a night now and what was Shady Glen, under new management I think is $45. Robbie Robbins seems the cheapest at $25 but it'sot luck and see if there is space when you get there. I'll have to think on it a little more. Thanks all. Tess
